Bumper Testsystem

Flexible bumper test system for OEM supplier

Thanks to the trust placed in our know-how and expertise, we were commissioned by our long-standing customer, a leading German automotive supplier, to deliver a testing system for bumpers for the Hungarian site.

We have already successfully implemented several end-of-line (EOL) testing systems for this customer in the past. Based on the positive experience and successful cooperation from these projects, we have now been awarded another contract for the development of a special testing system for bumpers.

Modular and expandable Berghof system

The test system is characterized by a modular and expandable hardware and software structure, which enables flexible adaptation to different bumper types and variants and ensures a high degree of versatility.

This versatility and, above all, expandability is made possible by our proven Berghof standard framework, which is also used here. This means that the system can be expanded at any time to include additional inspection scopes or, for example, integrated photo documentation.

In the current project, the following software modules were added to the standard framework:

  • Customer interface (host computer)
  • Translation
  • Sensor testing for ultrasound
  • Hands-free access / virtual pedal
  • Radiator grille light panels.

Our standard database editor allows the customer to maintain and edit test variants and parameters independently, ensuring a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.

The testing system also has integrated language switching, which in this case supports German, English and Hungarian. If required, this function can easily be expanded to include other languages to ensure optimum user-friendliness for international locations.

Scope of testing:

  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Automatic trunk opening
  • License plate lights and light units in the radiator grille

Ergonomic optimization:

  • Height-adjustable and tiltable test table: Enables ergonomic positioning of the bumper and prevents tilting.
  • Optimized lighting: Supports the visual final inspection of the component after the electrical test.
  • Spacious test frame: Allows the operator to fully inspect the bumper within the test station.

Conclusion

Thanks to the successful use of our modular inspection system, our customer was able to ensure an efficient and high-quality final inspection at the site in Hungary. The flexible system architecture offers future expansion options and guarantees a high level of investment security. This project underlines our many years of expertise and innovative strength in the field of testing and inspection technology.
