Focal points of the project:
- High-precision force control: Setpoint dependent on variant
- Adjustable range of force: 0 - 1000 N
- Interface to control units
How did we solve it?
- Force control: Control variable high-resolution linear motor; actual value measurement via force sensor
- Communication module with CAN bus, LIN bus or K-LINE, 4 communication channels, interface to measuring computer
Purpose of the project
An increasing number of car seats on the global market now require the installation of seat occupancy mats (PODS). The PODS activates the seat belt tensioning system in the event of an accident and individually controls the deployment of the airbag. Activation is based on the weight of the occupant. Berghof’s testing facility is designed for calibrating car seats with the DELPHI POD system, among others. In the test cell shown, the car seat is positioned and then automatically calibrated. In this process, various forces are applied to the car seat one after the other using the so-called pressure die unit. Once the calibration process has been completed, the calibration results are displayed to the operator on the user interface.
Technical requirements of the test bench
Force measurement, balance, angle measurement, position measurement, communication with control units (CAN, LIN);
Operating modes: Online (automatic), offline; light curtain/barrier, emergency stop procedure, measuring program with user interface
